Monad Airdrop Claim Portal Goes Live

Monad Airdrop Claim Portal Goes Live

Key Highlights

  • The official portal for claiming the Monad token airdrop is now live, with eligibility based on a snapshot taken on September 30
  • Claimed tokens will remain non-transferable until after the Token Generation Event and mainnet launch, which are expected to follow the claim deadline on November 3
  • The airdrop rewards will be distributed to five tracks, including the core Monad community, testnet users, and holders of specific NFTs on Ethereum and Solana

On October 14, the Monad Foundation shared the details related to its airdrop as its portal goes live today. The official portal for claiming MON tokens is active at claim.monad.xyz.

This airdrop is the big step for the Monad ecosystem, which is a new blockchain designed to handle massive scale while keeping costs extremely low.

“Today, many of the early believers in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana are lauded as leaders in the space. But only a few years ago, they were just smart, curious people who believed in something and took initiative with consistency and intentionality. The Monad Community is at that point right now,” stated in the official announcement

The airdrop targets 5,500 members of the Monad community, as well as nearly 225,000 members of the wider crypto community. The hype behind this airdrop is supported by the project’s substantial market valuation. Based on early perpetuals trading on the Hyperliquid exchange, the total value of all MON tokens is estimated at a staggering $6.9 billion.

This figure shows the high stakes involved and the market’s strong interest in the Monad project. The platform itself is an Ethereum-compatible Layer 1 blockchain, promising to process up to 10,000 transactions every second with minimal fees, a technical feat that aims to solve the speed and cost issues plaguing older networks.

Promising Reward for Genuine Contributors

The foundation has designed the airdrop to recognize and reward the people who have genuinely contributed to the ecosystem’s growth. The allocation explicitly excludes internal team members, focusing instead on developers, testers, and community members.

The eligibility will be determined by a snapshot of activity taken on September 30. This snapshot analyzed a wide range of data, including wallet activity on multiple blockchains and social media engagement on platforms like X, Discord, and Telegram.

Eligibility is not based on a single action but is spread across 5 distinct tracks, allowing participants to combine their contributions for a larger allocation. The first track rewards the core Monad community, including dedicated Discord members and participants in specific early supporter programs. The second track is for on-chain users who actively tested the Monad network, requiring a history of more than 50 transactions or interaction with testnet applications.

How to Claim Your Allocation and What to Expect

The process for claiming tokens is designed to be straightforward. Users must visit the official claim portal and connect their cryptocurrency wallets and relevant social media accounts. The system will then cross-reference these connections with the snapshot data to confirm eligibility.

However, the Monda team has urged users to be patient, noting that high traffic may cause website congestion and that there is no benefit to rushing for tokens in the first few minutes.

A big point for all claimants to understand is that the tokens are not immediately transferable. They will be locked until the official Token Generation Event and the launch of the Monad mainnet, which is expected sometime after November 3.

For those curious about the exact size of their reward, an optional feature will reveal individual allocations on October 28. The final, absolute deadline to claim is November 3, after which no late submissions will be accepted.

Monad Prepares to Expand Its Ecosystem

The successful launch of this airdrop portal is more than a simple token distribution. It is a big move to decentralize the network by rewarding its users from the very beginning. Backed by $244 million in funding from leading venture capital firms like Paradigm and Electric Capital, Monad is positioning itself as a serious contender in the competitive Layer 1 blockchain space.

Its planned integration with major platforms like Uniswap and OpenSea upon Mainnet launch will also grow its expansion.
